PRIVACY POLICY
Word Burg for iPhone ยท Effective 18 October 2026
Short version: Word Burg does not collect your personal information.
What the app collects
Nothing that identifies you. Word Burg has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools. It does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, camera or microphone.
What is stored on your device
The app saves three things, and all of them stay on your device:
- Your progress: level, score, streak and answer statistics.
- Your Daily Burg record: today's result and the answers you picked, the daily in progress if you left one running, your day streak, best streak, medals and the number of dailies played.
- Your settings: theme, difficulty, question types, font, color mode, cursor and sound.
We cannot see this information. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it. You can also erase it inside the app: open settings.json and choose reset(); twice.
Sharing a card
When you choose share(); or share(streak);, the app draws a short animated image (a GIF) of your stat sheet or your streak picture and hands it to the iPhone share sheet. The card shows your score, accuracy, the date, your streak and medal count. It never contains the questions or your answers. The app does not send the card anywhere itself; it goes only to the app or person you pick in the share sheet, and that app's own privacy policy applies from there. The file is kept in the app's temporary folder and iOS clears it.
Sharing with others
We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not have any.
Apple
You get the app from Apple's App Store. Apple handles the download and, if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, may give us anonymous, combined figures such as install counts and crash reports. That is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
If you email us
If you write to our support address, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply to you.
Children
Word Burg does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
